Paula O. Ryman

SYRACUSE — Paula O. Ryman, 74, Syracuse, passed away at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 11, 2017, at her home.  She was born Jan. 9, 1943, in Robbinsville, N.C., to Paul and Thelma Cook Colvard.  She attended high school in Robbinsville and moved to the Syracuse area in 1972 from Albion. She was married Aug 30, 1980, in Syracuse, to Tommy L. Ryman, who survives.

PLYMOUTH — Joyce Williams, 79, a former River Park resident of Plymouth, was peacefully called home with family at her side at 2:20 p.m. Thursday, May 11, in the Meadows Care Center, Warsaw. She has made Warsaw her home since 2014.

Don C. Fleming

Don C. Fleming Jr., 83, Warsaw, passed away at 2:10 p.m. Wednesday, May 10, at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.  Don was born Sept. 25, 1933, in Gary, to Don C. Fleming Sr. and his wife, Lillian Elsie Richardson Fleming. He graduated from nearby Portage High School in 1952. He was also a 1956 graduate of Purdue University, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in industrial psychology. On Oct. 23, 1953, Don was united in marriage to Charlotte Ann Johnson in Portage. Although the two had been together since seventh grade, they shared 63 years as a married couple. Charlotte survives in Warsaw.

Patrick Ross

GLENWOOD, Iowa — Patrick Timothy Ross, 73, Glenwood, Iowa, passed away May 9 at the Josie Harper Hospice House, Omaha, Neb.  Patrick was born Nov. 22, 1943, to James and Alice Ross in Newton, Iowa. On Sept. 11, 1965, he married Cheryll Bunn in Rock Island, Ill.  He is survived by Cheryll, Glenwood; son, Thomas (spouse Heather), Claypool; son, Timothy (spouse Ellen), Council Bluffs, Iowa; daughter, Theresa, Omaha; sister, Sarah “Sally” Cassady, East Lansing, Mich.; sister, Barbara “Sue” Wilkinson, Huntsville, Ala.; brother, Rafael “Joe,” Afton, Iowa; brother-in-law, Ed Bunn, Colfax, Iowa; and sister-in-law, Gerri Ross, Montezuma, Iowa. He was an adoring “Papa” to his four grandchildren: Maxton, Meg, Andrew and Aaron.  He was preceded in death by his parents as well as his brother, Michael; brothers-in-law, Donald Cassady, Dick Wilkinson and James Bunn; and sister-in-law, Myrna Bunn. Devoted to his family, he was an avid photographer who enjoyed taking pictures at family events and the extracurricular activities of his children and grandchildren. His unique sense of humor and quick wit entertained many. He loved chocolate and dessert. He was a fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes, Notre Dame Fighting Irish and Creighton Bluejays. Patrick graduated from Dowling Catholic High School, Des Moines, and St. Ambrose University, Davenport, Iowa. Working his entire life in the financial industry, he worked his way up from teller to bank president, retiring from Mills County Bank as branch president in 2009. Living most of his adult life in Mills County, his giving heart led him to be involved in several community groups, including chairman of the building committee for Holy Rosary Catholic Church, president of the Glenwood Community High School Ram Booster Club, director and volunteer at the Mills County Storehouse, director of the Pottawatomie County Red Cross, and Rotary Club fellow. Visitation will be at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Glenwood, from 2-5 p.m. June 11, with a prayer service to follow. Catholic services will be at 10 a.m. June 12.  A private burial is planned at a later date.  Peterson Mortuary, Glenwood, is handling the services. The family would like to thank all of the caregivers and friends who have provided so much care and assistance to Patrick and his family in this difficult time. ***** Memorials to Mills County Relay for Life; Mills County Storehouse; Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Omaha; Saint Albert Catholic Schools Fine Arts Department, Council Bluffs, Iowa; or Chapman Lakes Conservation Association, Warsaw.
