Larry Clark

Larry A. Clark, 75, Warsaw, passed away at 6:15 p.m. Saturday May 20, 2017, at Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw.  He was born Feb. 13, 1942, to Donald J. and Dorothy Hatfield Clark in Warsaw. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Vietnam War.  He married Ruby Jo Garber Dawson on March 3, 2007, in Warsaw.

William O'Hara

William L. "Bill" O'Hara, 90, rural Claypool, died at 5:48 p.m. Monday, May 22, 2017, at his home.   He was born Sept. 16, 1926, in Laketon, to Clyde O'Hara and Grace Flora Haupert Bill was a 1946 graduate of Chester High School, North Manchester, and was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during World War II. He married Kathryn E. "Kate" Renicker in Warsaw on May 1, 1948; she died Nov. 2, 2013.

Phillip Wayne “Phil” Neff

Phillip Wayne “Phil” Neff, 77, passed away at 6:50 p.m. Friday, May 19, 2017,  in Miller's Merry Manor, Warsaw. On Oct 23, 1939, in Warsaw, Phil was born to Marvin Edward and Lucy Louise Liggett Neff. He was a 1957 graduate of Claypool High School. Phil enlisted in the United States Navy March 24, 1958. FTG2 Phillip Wayne Neff was honorably discharged Jan 5, 1963. Upon his return from the service and on April 14, 1963, in Silver Lake, he took Erma L. Salyer as his bride.

Bragg Named New Lady Wildcats Hoops Coach

Dr. Rick Bragg was named the head girls basketball coach at Whitko High School last week, replacing the departed Brandon Bradley. Bragg began his teaching and coaching career at Columbia City under Hall of Fame coach Wayne Kreiger. While there, Bragg coached volleyball, junior varsity girls basketball, and girls track. From Columbia City, Bragg worked and coached at Cherokee County in metro Atlanta. While there, he coached volleyball, boys and girls basketball, baseball, and girls tennis. His 1996 girls basketball team won the Georgia 4A state championship and finished the year in the Top 10 in the USA Today national poll. His teams made six appearances in the state tourney in seven years.

Memorial Services Set May 29

The annual Memorial Day services conducted by John C. Peterson Post 49 and James W. Sittler VFW Post 1126 will take place May 29 at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
