Una Gertrude Voorhorst

Una Gertrude Voorhorst entered peacefully into eternal rest with her Lord, Jesus Christ, at 6:41 p.m. Saturday, June 3, 2017, at the age of 94. She was a resident of Mason Health and Rehabilitation Center, Warsaw.   She was born Oct. 28, 1922, in East Saugatuck, Mich., to Anna Belt and Edward Vanden Berg. Una enjoyed an idyllic but hard-working childhood on her family’s farm, from which she could walk to the local one-room schoolhouse. On March 4, 1948, she was married to Bernard Voorhorst, who preceded her in death in 1995.

Delivery zone parking test planned

Warsaw Traffic Commission Wednesday voted to test a downtown delivery zone parking space for six months. It will be at the southwest corner of Indiana and Center streets next to the CenturyLink building.

Kosciusko Added To ‘My Way Pre-K’ Program

Gov. Eric J. Holcomb Wednesday announced 15 additional Indiana counties are now eligible to participate in On My Way Pre-K, making prekindergarten available in 2018 to 4-year-olds from low-income families in those counties.

Charlene Cook, 70, Warsaw, passed away at 11:35 p.m. Wednesday, June 7, 2017, in Warsaw Meadows Healthcare Center. On Oct. 4, 1946, she was born in Dumas County, Ark., to Fred Allen and Gertrude Ledbetter Smith. She was united in marriage to David Michael Cook on Oct. 19, 1973, in Warsaw. He survives.
