Nancy Lee McBride Nesbitt

Nancy Lee McBride Nesbitt, 79, Grace Village Retirement Community, Winona Lake, passed away at 7:10 p.m. Monday, June 26, 2017, at Grace Village Health Care from complications from a fall and Alzheimer’s.  She was born March 4, 1938, in Troy, Ohio, to Alice Faye Brandt and Robert Foster McBride. On July 6, 1963, she was married to James Harrison Nesbitt, who survives in Winona Lake.

Robert Allen Gill, 92, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2017, at his home in San Jose, Calif. On Sept. 20, 1924, Robert was born and raised in Warsaw. He graduated from Warsaw High School. In 1943 he entered World War II as a Navy enrollee. After his honorable discharge he attended and graduated from Purdue University. Robert worked as an aerospace engineer for Lockheed Martin (California) and retired after 28 years.

Spartans Football Adds Cole As Assistant Coach

Manchester University head football coach Nate Jensen announced Monday that Scotty Cole has joined the Spartans’ staff as an assistant. Cole, a former two-time all-Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association defensive back and Alma College team Most Valuable Player in 2011, will guide the Black and Gold’s defensive backfield.

Juanita B. Miller Allen, 86, of Leesburg, passed away Saturday, June 24, 2017, at 11:33 p.m. in Goshen Hospital. She was born Dec. 18, 1930, in Leesburg, to C. Maxwell and Hazel Starner Miller. She graduated salutatorian from Leesburg High School in 1948. She married Richard A. “Dick” Allen on June 12, 1949. He preceded her in death Oct. 28, 2014, after 65 years of marriage.

Joe Charles Putrich,

Joe Charles Putrich, 79, of WeeMaTuk, passed away into eternal life in heaven at 3:15 a.m. Saturday, June 24, 2017, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.  He was born Nov. 27, 1937, in Canton, the son of Fabian “Dobby” and Lois Lightle Putrich. He married the love of his life, Elaine Howard, on July 5, 1959, at the First Christian Church in Canton. She survives.

Genevieve Ileene Stafford

Genevieve Ileene Stafford, 88 years old at the time of her death, passed away on Saturday, June 24, 2017, at 11 a.m. in her Warsaw home. Genevieve was born to Jacob and Hazel Hicks Rockey on Nov. 19, 1929. She was born in Warsaw, spending most of her lifetime there. On April 13, 1954, she was married to the late Roland W. Stafford Sr.
