Lowe's, Wal-Mart Site Work Continues

The Lowe's Home Improvement Warehouse and the Wal-Mart Super Center openings are just a few months away and the dirt has been flying on the northwest corner of U.S.30 and Ind.15 in preparation for these events. The two developments will look a lot different from other commercial projects, though, as these two facilities fall under Warsaw's new landscaping requirements. "There will be a very green look on approach," said Warsaw city planner Jeff Noffsinger."A berm will run along U.S.30 with a park-like area screening the back of the Lowe's store." Trees will be planted along the perimeters and in the parking lots at a ratio of one tree for every 10 parking spaces, avoiding a "sea of asphalt" look. Construction is expected to last through August. Entrance into the shopping center will be from Ind.15, north of U.S.30, onto the proposed Jalynn Street, which will run east and west between the two stores.
