William L. Stillson, known by most as “Bill,” passed away at 10:25 p.m. Friday, June 30, 2017, in Miller’s Merry Manor, Warsaw. He was 83 at the time of his passing. Born in Nappanee on Aug. 9, 1933, he was the son of Leo and Florence Beigh Stillson. Bill attended Nappanee area schools and served briefly in the United States Air Force before being honorably discharged. On Dec. 14, 1952, Bill was married to the late Mary Ellen Boggs in Packerton. Together they shared 63 years and started a family that includes their two daughters, Susan and Sandy.
Mary Ann Culbertson, 85, passed away at 9:25 p.m. Saturday, July 1, 2017, in Grace Village Retirement Community, Winona Lake. Mary Ann was born Jan. 23, 1932, in Pierceton, to Ralph and Edith Haines Wertenberger. She was a 1950 graduate of Pierceton High School. Jack Culbertson and Mary Ann were joined in marriage Feb. 16, 1952, in Pierceton. They were blessed to share 65 years.

Nancy Lee McBride Nesbitt, Grace Village Retirement Community, Winona Lake, passed away at 7:10 p.m. Monday, June 26, 2017, at Grace Village Health Care from complications from a fall and Alzheimer’s at the age of 79.

Opal Plummer, 92, Warsaw, passed away at 2:06 a.m. Tuesday, June 27, 2017, in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw, assisted by Great Lakes Hospice. She was born June 23, 1925, to Wilburn and Katie Shepherd. She was a bank teller prior to attending college in elementary education. In 1945 she married Homer Salyer, who preceded her, and had seven children. In 1972 she was united in marriage to John Plummer, who preceded her, and they relocated to Arizona, where she retired at the age of 67 from the state of Arizona. At 75 she became a certified massage therapist and practiced for a couple of years.
