Most Americans would, I believe.Internment of Japanese (WWII) is of course commonly agreed to have been a mistake for well-known reasons.Registering legitimate Arabs seems a reasonable alternative, under the circumstances.

- R-Rated - Disliked Cartoon - PPVs - Gun Rights R-Rated Editor, Times-Union: Last Sunday I dropped my 1-year-old daughter at her grandparents' for the afternoon so her father and I could see a movie together.We went to the local theater complex to see an "R"-rated film that was well-reviewed and whose preview we had seen.We weren't exactly expecting what we saw, on screen or off. As we took our seats, we observed that the theater was full of children.I don't mean just young teenagers, although there were a handful of them.I'm talking about little kids - 2, 3, 4 years old.

SYRACUSE -ÊThe Wawasee boys basketball team snapped a nine-game losing streak with a 69-65 Northern Lakes Conference win over Northridge Saturday.The game marks Wawasee's first NLC win. At the half, Northridge held a 32-30 lead, but Wawasee outscored the Raiders 39-33 in the second half to get the win. Wawasee's Andrew Packer led all scorers with 22 points, while teammate Justin VanLue added 14.Scott Beasley chipped in 11 for the Warriors. Wawasee is 4-11 overall and 1-5 in the NLC, while Northridge falls to 6-10 and 1-5 in NLC play. McGuire, DeMarco Top 2005 Stories

While a lot of 2005's national headlines were about natural disasters, the top 10 local headlines focused on people's deeds. To determine the top 10 local stories of the year, front page news stories were reviewed and then voted on by the Times-Union news and sports staffs. Top story of the year was the resignation of Warsaw Schools Superintendent Dr.Dave McGuire. On July 27, by a vote of 6-to-1, the school board accepted a settlement agreement with McGuire along with his resignation. Ralph Bailey, Columbia City, was later named interim superintendent, by the same vote of 6-1.Bailey's consultant agreement requested pay of $495 per day plus 40 cents per mile traveled, but that was to be negotiated by three of the school board members.

10 Years Ago Sept.22 1987 Warsaw Mayor Jeff Plank was pictured holding a Chilean flag with Winfred Vallette, a representative from Melipilla, Chile, during ceremonies at Grace College.The flag was one of several gifts to the community as part of an attempt by representatives of both cities to establish official sister-city ties.
