Warsaw Dominates Whitko, Improves To 15-3

SOUTH WHITLEY -ÊWarsaw jumped out to a 5-0 lead within the first minute of the game against Whitko Tuesday night in South Whitley. It didn't get much better for the Wildcats after that as they suffered a 61-33 loss to the Tigers. After Janna Knisely and Ashley Wyatt put the Tigers up 5-0, Whitko's Angela Trump sank a basket and cut the deficit to 3, 5-2. By the end of the quarter, Warsaw held a 20-10 advantage. Trump stepped up to score the first basket of the second quarter, but the quarter beloged to Warsaw from that point on. At the 5:08 mark, the Tigers started an 11-0 run behind scoring input from Knisely, Michelle DeGeeter, Jaclyn Leininger and Hilary O'Connell. In all, Warsaw outscored Whitko 13-7 in the quarter to take a 33-17 advantage at the half. The Tigers continued their dominance through the third.Leininger scored the first two baskets of the frame, and O'Connell and DeGeeter joined her in scoring the first seven points of the quarter.

Ten-Run First Inning Lifts Warsaw Over Wawasee

Three three-run homers. Eight hits. Ten runs. Two hit batters. Two errors. Not bad stats for a baseball game. How 'bout for the bottom half of an inning? That's exactly what happened in the bottom of the first inning in Warsaw when the Tigers hosted Northern Lakes Conference rival Wawasee Monday night. Warsaw then held the Warriors scoreless for four more innings to finish the game in five innings on the 10-run rule. Things started out well for the Warriors as Dan Milligan hit a single past Warsaw's short stop with one out to get the ball rolling. Brent Doty followed with a single down the right-field line that sent Milligan to third, putting runners on the corners with just one out.

KEDCO Presents Awards At Annual Meeting And 40th Anniversary Celebration

NORTH WEBSTER - It was Kosciusko Economic Development Corporation’s annual meeting and 40th anniversary celebration Wednesday night, but KEDCO was the one handing out awards to community members and businesses that have had an impact on the community.

The Year That Was

• 1.Kevin Ault named Mr.Basketball By Greg Jones, Times-Union Sports Editor After one of the most anxious and nervewracking weeks of his life, Kevin Ault's first reaction after being told he was named Indiana's Mr.Basketball was that of - relief. Not that the award was a relief, but the waiting to find out was finally over. "It has been the longest week since I can remember," Ault said."On Friday, it seemed like it took forever for them to call. Then it came, and it was a sigh of relief, of joy.Everything went into it.I was expecting the call much earlier. Then I thought it might not come at all." When ever the phone would ring, it would be an anxious moment in the Ault household, and then there would be a sense of disappointment if it wasn't THE call. After a while, they were hoping for any call.Even a call that Ault did not get Mr.Basketball would have been better than nothing at all.
