AKRON – During the past school year the Tippecanoe Valley School Corporation and the community it serves were forever impacted by the suicide deaths of a student, his father and a staff member. Two students and a second staff member also passed away during the school year.

10 Years AgoThe Young Tigers football team received permission from the parents of David Fribley to name the football field at Richardson-DuBois Park after the Marine who was killed in action March 23 during Operation Iraqi Freedom. David, from Atwood, was a Warsaw Community High School football player and lettered in other sports during high school. Fribley Field’s first season of play will be next summer. Tusing, formerly of Leesburg, and a 10-year veteran of the United States Marine Corps, was selected as “Marine of the Year” for the Marine support battalion, which consists of 10 letter companies worldwide. Tusing, a 1975 graduate of Warsaw Community High School, is a communications operator assigned to the Naval Security Group Department of the U.S. Naval Communications Station in Rota, Spain.
