She was born Dec. 12, 1941, in Rochester, to John W. and Grace K. Thompson Moyer. She worked at Peabody Seating Co., North Manchester, for 20 years. John Gares Martin

John Gares Martin Sr., Warsaw, passed away at 7:20 a.m. Thursday, March 9, 2017, at Mason Health and Rehabilitation Center, Warsaw, at the age of 87.  He was born on Dec. 12, 1929, in Canton, Ohio, to Catherine Angela Boylan Martin and William Earle Martin.  On July 19, 1952, in Troy, Ohio, he was married to Rose Marie “Okie” Brown, who passed away on Oct. 27, 2010.    A memorial open house will be 1-5 p.m. Sunday, April 30, 2017, at 2702 E. 225 S., Warsaw. Those planning to attend should RSVP Sandie at 805-651-4187.  Private burial was at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.    Arrangements were entrusted to Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, Warsaw.

Grace To Play Sports This Fall

On Tuesday night, the NAIA Council of Presidents announced the rescheduling of all fall 2020 championships to spring 2021. As part of the NAIA’s decision, each conference retains the autonomy to decide when to play regular season competition. The Crossroads League’s Council of Presidents has made the decision to carry on with a fall season of competition after detailed discussion and planning.
