Newlyweds Killed In Crash Near North Manchester
NORTH MANCHESTER – A couple that were married for eight days were killed Sunday when their vehicle hit a tree.

Herendeen, Silver Lake, (if hens could read), would post a sign to the effect that the hood of his automobile is not a brooder, or a hen house. The reason:Herendeen made a professional call in the morning to the Roy Montel farm. About noon L.O. Henry heard a peculiar noise under the hood of the physician's automobile where it was parked near his office. He found the hen sitting on the engine. It was returned to the Montel farm. A few days later the physician made another call to the farm and the hen found its way to the hood of the car again. The hen finally ended up being given to the physician.
