10 Years Ago November 8 1989 Second Lt.Paul Bontrager, son of Edward and Josephine Bontrager, Syracuse, has graduated from the officer rotary wing aviator course and received the silver wings of an Army aviator at the U.S.Army Aviation School, Fort Rucker, Ala. Students received instruction in helicopter flying techniques, including tactical instrument flying maintenance, navigation and radio procedures. 25 Years Ago November 8 1974 Charles Bertsch, chairman of the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Merit Board, presented Sheriff David Andrews with new audio and visual equipment which will provide better security in the county jail.This equipment will permit the one operating the radio at the desk to observe what goes on in the cells and the bull-pen at all times.The equipment cost $2,500.
