Warsaw Planners To Consider Request To Vacate

Warsaw Plan Commission tonight will discuss a public way vacation request.

IURC Approves Sale Of Utility To North Webster

The Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission approved the sale of North Shore Public Utilities to the town of North Webster Wednesday. The utility, which provides sewer service to the Epworth Forest neighborhood, needs significant repairs and improvements that the utility could not afford, said Mike Leppert, spokesman for the commission. North Webster plans to upgrade the company's wastewater collection system.Sewer rates for Epworth Forest are not expected to change.

Public Access Upgrade

A new boat launch has been installed in Kiwanis Park on East Smith Street. The public launch on the channel gives boaters access to Winona Lake. According to Warsaw Parks Department superintendent Jon Garber, the new launch is 128 feet long, with 64 feet in the water. WFD Open House

The Warsaw Fire Department will host an open house from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday at Station No. 2, 2204 E. Center St. New fire equipment will be on display and special events are planned for the kids. There will be safety tips for adults and hourly drawings for children. Also, refreshments will be served and "Sparkey" will make an appearance.
