Danny Eugene “Brummy” Brumfield was born Dec. 18, 1948, to Eugene Brumfield and Nancy Prout Brumfield and died at the Cornerstone Hospice House in The Villages, Fla., on March 13, 2018.
After 29 years in business, Joni Feng, the owner of Great Wall, 2308 E. Center St., Warsaw, has retired for health reasons. The locally famous Chinese restaurant closed Sunday.
Dorotha Marie Binkley Sheets of Grace Village Retirement Community, Winona Lake, passed away at 8:50 a.m. Monday, Oct. 15, 2018, at Grace Village Health Care at the age of 102.
William L. "Bill" Hilliard, 69, of 270 Gilliam Drive, Warsaw, went to join the Lord at 8:25 a.m. Feb. 2, 2010, in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw, after struggling a long and hard battle with cancer.
Opal Plummer, 92, Warsaw, passed away at 2:06 a.m. Tuesday, June 27, 2017, in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw, assisted by Great Lakes Hospice. She was born June 23, 1925, to Wilburn and Katie Shepherd. She was a bank teller prior to attending college in elementary education. In 1945 she married Homer Salyer, who preceded her, and had seven children. In 1972 she was united in marriage to John Plummer, who preceded her, and they relocated to Arizona, where she retired at the age of 67 from the state of Arizona. At 75 she became a certified massage therapist and practiced for a couple of years.
Brian Lee Ford, 58, of rural Roann, died at 11:55 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 25, 2018, in Lagro. He was born March 27, 1959, in Wabash, to Basil Floyd and Marjorie B. Trice Ford. Brian was a 1977 graduate of Northfield High School and attended Ohio State University. He was a millwright, retiring after 32 years. He married Tilly Bedwell at the Dora Christian Church in rural Lagro on Feb. 29, 1980.
Connie J. Klein, 73, Gilead, died at 8:40 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, 2018, at Peabody Retirement Community, North Manchester. She was born May 21, 1944, in Rochester, to Glen A. and Alice Gail Wright Teel. On Nov. 24, 1963, in the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church of rural Akron, she was married to Jerry Klein. He survives.
