Tigers Win NLC Shootout Over Mishawaka

Mishawaka Cavemen head coach Keith Kinder had a clock management challenge. The Warsaw Tiger offense, leading 33-32 with 4:12 left in the final quarter, had already scored touchdowns on five previous possessions. They were pushing for their sixth score at the guest’s 10-yard line when Kinder used all three available timeouts on consecutive Warsaw rushing plays to assure the visitors had enough time to tie the game if Warsaw did indeed score again.

Squires Roll Past Zebras In TRC Matchup

Coming in this week on a two-game skid, the Manchester football team looked to get back in the win column and climb up in the conference standings. Against the Rochester Zebras, a team about to play only their second game of the season, the Squires made the absolute most of it. Behind junior halfback Braxton Ream’s four-touchdown and more than 300 rushing yards performance, the Squires took care of business and rolled over the Zebras 41-14 Friday night in North Manchester.

Lady Lancers Tennis Blows Past Adrian In Non-Conference Play

Grace College’s women’s tennis team had little trouble handling Adrian on Friday. The Lady Lancers won 6-1, securing their third straight win on the young season. Grace was dominant in doubles’ play, setting the tone for the afternoon. Jayna Armstrong and Dayana Ortega did not drop a game (6-0) at No. 1 doubles.

Grace Cross Country Armed With Young Talent

Grace College’s cross country team is filled with youth. But the 2020 Lancers also have high hopes in what could be a very promising fall season. The program is coming off one of its best NCCAA showings ever. The men’s team placed third at the 2019 NCCAA National Championships, tying the best finish in team history. The women were sixth, one spot away from a program record.

Grace College Volleyball Secures Second Straight Sweep

Grace’s volleyball team had two straight road matches in the Crossroads League to open up the 2020 season. The result was the same both times. Grace picked up its second consecutive sweep, blanking Mt. Vernon Nazarene 3-0 on Wednesday. The match was a battle despite the 3-0 scoreline with two of the sets reaching extra points.
