Wawasee ratcheted up its defensive pressure to outscore Lakeland 11-3 in the second quarter. The Lakers didn't make a field goal until 1:53 left in the half when Sammy Jo Simon nailed a jumper to tie the game at 15-15. The Warriors entered the half with a one-point lead at 16-15 after junior Jessie Wolf hit one of two free throws.
