Woman Facing Burglary, Theft Charges

Husband Of Murder Victim Pleads Guilty To Burglary

William Vroman, formerly of Milford, pleaded guilty to burglary Tuesday in Kosciusko Circuit Court, and a plea agreement could result in two other charges against him being dismissed. Vroman, 32, was the husband of 48-year-old murder victim Kathy Vroman, whose body was found in January near a wooded area in Michigan several days after he reported her missing. She died as a result of two gunshot wounds to the back of her head and Jason Fisher, 22, of Millersburg, is charged with her murder. Vroman was one of three men implicated in a Dec.2 burglary of Rice Ford in Warsaw, from which more than $100,000 in 2001 vehicles were stolen. Officials said Kathy Vroman's death may have been related to an auto theft ring in which Fisher; his father, Ralph Freddrick Fisher, 46, of Goshen; William Vroman; Lawrence Grant, 29, of Shipshewana; and George W.Aldrich, 28, of Etna Green, were allegedly involved.

Fisher Murder Charge Dropped

As promised by Kosciusko County's prosecutor, a charge of murder was dismissed against a Millersburg man accused in the Jan.15, 2001, death of a Milford woman. The charge against Jason Fisher, 23, was officially dismissed Monday, just more than two weeks after the trial in which his father, Ralph Fredderick Fisher, 47, of Goshen, was acquitted of the same charge. Jason Fisher spent more than 10 months in the Kosciusko County Jail charged with the death of Kathy Vroman, 48, of Milford, before he told officials that it was his father who committed the crime. Kosciusko County Prosecutor Charles Waggoner then charged Ralph Fisher with the murder and, as was learned during the elder man's trial last month, promised to dismiss the murder charge against Jason Fisher in exchange for his testimony against his father.

Police Solve 2 Area Thefts

Two area teens are in custody following two investigations into area burglaries. County investigators recently released information charging two men in separate cases. Christopher J.Peter, 19, no address available, was in St.Joseph County Jail on other charges when he was questioned about writing stolen checks. That interview has led to preliminary charges in Kosciusko County of Class C Felony burglary and Class D Felony theft. Peter was charged in connection with a Feb.15 burglary at Gragg Equipment, at the southeast corner of CR 350S and Ind.15. Peter reportedly told investigators he broke a pane of glass from the north side of the building to gain entry, then took a pickup with a trailer, said Kosciusko County Sheriff Department Det.Sgt.Sam Whitaker.
