Wawasee FB Coach Ekovich Steps Down

Wawasee head football coach Josh Ekovich stepped down from his position Friday, citing a desire to spend more time with his wife and young children. John L. "Jack" Steinkamp,

FORT WAYNE – John L. "Jack" Steinkamp, 74, passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at Bryn Mawr Hospital in Bryn Mawr, Pa.  Born in Seymour, Jack was the son of the late Glenn and Jean Steinkamp. He graduated from Indiana University with a doctorate in law and began working at what is now Lincoln Financial Group. He retired 36 years later as vice president and associate general council.  He was a 28-year member of Faith Baptist Church in Fort Wayne, and was a member of the 707 Club in Media, Pa. Jack enjoyed the outdoors: golfing, traveling and taking daily walks. He loved to visit with family and friends and enjoyed all "woofers" he was privileged to meet.

Whitko GBB Coach Bradley Steps Down

Citing a desire to be closer to his family in central Indiana, Whitko girls basketball coach Brandon Bradley announced his resignation Thursday afternoon. “I made this decision solely on my own, and I made this decision based on my family,” Bradley said in a statement. “I have now lived in northern Indiana for more than 10 years, while my immediate family is in central Indiana.  With my parents in that retirement stage of their lives, and other family members dealing with health issues, I feel that this is the best decision for me.”

Late Surges Produce Sweep For Grace

A doubleheader between Grace’s softball team and Goshen came down to the final inning each game. Fortunately for the Lady Lancers, Grace won both games in the last inning. The first game was won by Grace 6-3 in 10 innings, and the Lady Lancers secured the sweep with a 9-6 win in the second game.
