This year’s Kosciusko?County Community Foundation luncheon for women featured various funds that will benefit the Mentone area.

Judith Ann Whitaker

Judith Ann Whitaker, Warsaw, passed away at her residence at 7:05 p.m. Tuesday, May 2, 2017, at the age of 78.  She was born on June 4, 1938, in Indianapolis, to Karl E. Miller and Trudis M. Thompson Miller.   Judith was a 1956 graduate of Silver Lake High School.  She moved to the area in 1959 and worked at Da-Lite Screen, Warsaw, for 20 years.  She was an avid Cubs fan and loved Notre Dame. She enjoyed traveling, camping, flowers, and loved Cedar Point. Most of all, she especially loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Wawasee FB Coach Ekovich Steps Down

Wawasee head football coach Josh Ekovich stepped down from his position Friday, citing a desire to spend more time with his wife and young children. Ekovich spent six seasons with Warrior football, the last four as head coach after Tom Wogomon took the job at Northridge, for many of the same reasons Ekovich is stepping aside. “You know, a lot of this has to do with being so far away,” said the Kendallville resident. “There’s always that song in the back of my head (Harry Chapin’s “Cats In The Cradle’) and I think ‘man, I’m losing a bunch of time with the family,’
