10 Years AgoThe Dixie Queen was partially underwater at her dock on Webster Lake having apparently taken on water overnight. Exact cause of the sinking is unknown. The cause can't be determined until the boat is raised and inspected. Water was being pumped out and the boat had been raised 3 inches in approximately half an hour.The boat was docked and no one was on board when it began sinking, Lila O'Connell said. Water Chestnuts and Pineapple Wrapped in Bacon.1 lb. sliced bacon; 1 can whole water chestnuts; 1 can pineapple chunks; 1/2 cup dijon mustard; 1 cup brown sugar; 2 tbsp. juice from pineapple. Cut bacon slices in half. Drain water chestnuts and pineapple chunks, saving 2 tbsp. of pineapple juice. In small bowl combine mustard, sugar and juice. Spread mixture on bacon slice and roll around either a pineapple chunk or water chestnut; secure with a toothpick. Arrange on a jelly roll pan or a pan with sides. When all are rolled, spread remaining mustard sauce over bacon rolls. Bake at 400 degrees until bacon has cooked and glazed - 15 to 20 minutes. Serve warm. (Contributor unknown.)50 Years AgoMrs. B.L. Light, former Tiger star last year, contributed a 40-yard gallop as his share of the day's play besides some superb blocking which thrilled several Warsawans who were on hand to witness the opening tilt.
