Triton Beats Winamac; Secures Winning Season

Max Slusser ran for 120 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and James Snyder had a touchdown passing and another on the ground for Triton in its 36-19 Hoosier North Athletic Conference football win Friday at Winamac. The win was the sixth for Triton, assuring the Trojans of their first winning season since 2008. The victory also secured sole possession of third place in the conference.

Elliott Foundation Golf Outing Held

The second-annual Tony Elliott Foundation charity golf scramble was held recently at the Tippecanoe Lake Country Club. The event included golf as well as a lunch, cocktail reception and silent auction.  There were a total of 23 foursomes competing for a Warsaw Cut Glass custom trophy and other prizes. The winning four-person team consisted of Murray Bartel, Nick Anglemyer, Mike LaLonde and Dan Conti.

Louis "Lou" Salvatore Biondi

Louis "Lou" Salvatore Biondi passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2017, having lived and enjoyed 80 years devoted to and loved by his family and many friends.  Lou was born in Rome, N.Y., on Jan. 10, 1937, the youngest child of the late Edgardo and Ausila Marino Biondi Sr.  He was a 1954 graduate of Rome Free Academy. Lou married his high school sweetheart, Faith Smith, on June 1, 1957, at St. Peter's Church in Rome.
