A man out on bond for allegedly shoplifting and impersonating a police officer at a local grocery store this weekend was arrested Wednesday evening for reportedly breaking into a residence and stealing a vehicle.

Rochester Man Sentenced To 33 Months In Prison For Theft Of Firearms

SOUTH BEND – Justin Overholser, 40, of Rochester, was sentenced by United States District Court Judge Jon E. DeGuilio after pleading guilty to theft of firearms from a federal firearms licensee, announced United States Attorney Clifford D. Johnson.

Warsaw Man Faces Charges; Accused Of Stealing From Employer

A Warsaw man was arrested Friday after allegedly stealing more than $6,000 from his employer in seven months.


Teen Waived To Adult Court

The teen-ager suspected in the arson fire that destroyed the Leesburg Grace Brethren Church has been waived from juvenile court to adult court. Timothy Grevenstuk, 17, of Leesburg, is charged with arson causing bodily injury and burglary of a church, both Class A felonies; Class C felony burglary of a business; and theft and attempted theft, both Class D felonies. Grevenstuk and his defense lawyer consented to the case being waived to adult court. The arson charges are a result of the July 22 fire that destroyed the newer part of the Grace Brethren Church and gutted the historic half.According to police reports, investigators believe the fire was started in the basement sometime around midnight.Remains of an accelerant were allegedly found.

Charges Dropped In Sex Offenses

Charges against a Pierceton man accused of raping three teenage girls he knew in July have been dropped by the Kosciusko County Prosecutor's office. Maximo Pete Ybarra, 22, was being held in the Kosciusko County Jail after being charged with three counts of rape (class B felonies), one count of child molestation (class A felony) and one count of theft (class D felony) in Kosciusko County. The prosecutor's office decided last week not to proceed with the charges after the investigation revealed conflicting evidence. Additionally, court records show that two of the alleged victims, girls now 16 and 17 years old, could not be served with subpoenas for depositions because they could not be located. According to a police report filed July 21 at the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department, three juvenile girls reported being raped at a residence on Channel Road in Warsaw.

3 Held In Syracuse Burglary

SYRACUSE - Three suspects are in custody for allegedly burglarizing a Syracuse business Tuesday. The three men are accused of breaking into Jack's Village Video, Huntington Street, Syracuse, and taking cash, videos and games.Police are continuing the investigation and reportedly think there may be a tie between this incident and several others in the area. Anthony Michael Hoover, 18, of 414 E.Medusa St., Syracuse, was booked into Kosciusko County Jail and charged with criminal mischief, theft/receiving stolen property, and possession of paraphernalia. Dustin Cordell Boggs, 18, of 11794 Robin Hood Road, Cromwell, was also booked on the same three charges.Brandon J.Hoffman, 18, of 303 E.Palm Drive, Syracuse, was booked on a charge of theft/receiving stolen property.Bond for each man was set at $250.

Woman Sentenced In Theft Of $28,000 From PTO

A Warsaw woman who pleaded guilty to stealing money from the Lincoln School Parent Teacher Organization was sentenced this morning in Kosciusko Superior Court. Kathleen A.Lursen, 36, pleaded guilty to the charge of theft, a Class D felony, in March. Today she was sentenced to two years in prison, suspended to probation.She was ordered to pay an initial probation user's fee of $50 and $20 monthly.She was ordered to continue counseling at Bowen Center and obtain employment of 37 to 40 hours a week.She was also ordered to give a face-to-face apology to the PTO, and pay a $200 fine and $125 court costs. Lursen was the former president of the PTO and also acted as treasurer for the group.In October 1997, four new members of the PTO contacted Warsaw police and reported that Lursen admitted to stealing money from the organization.
