Warsaw Boys Soccer Takes NLC Crown

Thursday night’s match between Warsaw and Northridge meant a little bit more to the Tigers than a usual match. A win for Warsaw would clinch a Northern Lakes Conference title. After 80 minutes of play, the score line read 4-2 in favor of the Tigers. After an uncharacteristically down year in 2020, Warsaw is back at the top of the conference.

Walter Lee Stafford

Walter Lee Stafford, 69, Warsaw, passed away at 4:15 a.m. Dec. 2, 2016, in his residence.  He was born July 28, 1947, to Walter Buford and Lola C. Scott Stafford in Double Springs, Tenn. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving from 1966 to 1969 during the Vietnam War. He was united in marriage on June 7, 1977, to Maxine Slone in Clintwood, Va. 

Standoff Leads To Arrest

A man is in custody after an eight-hour standoff with police north of Syracuse, according to a news release from the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department.
