Kelly Felger, daughter of Craig and Cindy Felger, Warsaw, and Reed Luecke, daughter of Doug and Marilyn Luecke, Silver Lake, are among the nine students chosen for the dance team. 25 Years Ago January 9 1983 Laurie Showalter, a saxophone player in the NorthWood High School, is probably just now coming down to earth after a whirlwind tour with the McDonald's All-American High School Band. Laurie, of Nappanee, was one of only two musicians in the state chosen. Among other things, she marched in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York, the Fiesta Bowl Parade in Phoenix New Year's Eve and the famed Tournament of Rose Parade in Pasadena, Calif., New Year's Day. 50 Years Ago January 9 1958 Pfc. James W. Rose, son of Mr. and Mrs. George G. Rose, Nappanee, is a member of the 2d Quartermaster Group, which presented food, clothing and toys to orphaned children in Ludwigsburg, Germany, during the holiday season. Jim, a clerk in the group's headquarters detachment, entered the army in December 1956, completed basic training at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., and arrived in Germany last May. 75 Years Ago January 9 1933 Wallace J. Dillingham was named by the city county to succeed Elmer Funk as a member of the Warsaw City Park Board. Dillingham was named on motion of Councilman M.P. Hodges, seconded by Councilman Glenn Smith. The vote was unanimous.
