Warsaw Heading Into Second Year Of Moore Era

Matt Moore established his way of doing things in his first season as head coach of boys basketball at Warsaw Community High School. In going 15-8 overall and 6-1 in the Northern Lakes Conference (tying Mishawaka for the conference crown) in 2020-21, the Tigers got off to a 7-7 start and put together an eight-game win streak before a narrow loss to Elkhart in the IHSAA Class 4A Elkhart Sectional.

Simfukwe Surges, Tiger Defense Clip Eagles’ Wings 62-54

Judah Simfukwe scored 17 points in the final nine minutes of Warsaw’s season-opening 62-54 victory over the Columbia City Eagles Saturday night. Simfukwe’s surge included eight straight points eliminating the Tigers’ 43-40 late third quarter deficit to move atop the Eagles 48-43 with 5:50 left in the contest. The Tigers never trailed again in a game with four lead changes and eight ties.
