He was also a member of the school newspaper staff and boys cheerblock. 50 Years Ago February 29 1958 SP 3 Chauncey L. Bennett, son of Ruth Bennett, Burket, has completed an eight-week course for dental assistants at the army medical service school, Fort Sam Houston, Texas. Chauncey has been in service one year, took his basic at Fort Carson, Colo. He's a 1953 graduate of Burket High School and worked for Jomac Co. in Warsaw. 75 Years Ago February 29 1933 Eli Keplinger, of 1224 E. Main St., is the owner of a government land grant conveyance paper signed by President Andrew Jackson in 1830 conveying a quarter section of Ohio land to Peter Hack, grandfather of Mr. Keplinger. The bold signature of President "Old Hickory" Jackson is in the President's own handwriting, made 103 years ago and is highly prized by Keplinger.
