Tippecanoe Valley Upset In Sectional ‘Ship By West Noble

When it comes to high school basketball, especially come playoff time, the phrase “anything can happen” will be said until the end of time. Tippecanoe Valley girls basketball was on the wrong end of an upset Saturday night in the IHSAA 3A sectional 20 championship, falling 56-51 to a now 6-17 West Noble squad. The Lady Vikings end their season with a 17-8 record and a Three Rivers Conference championship.

Warsaw Bowling Eyes Championship In Second Trip To State

With a chance to make history and win the first state title in the history of the program, the Warsaw bowling team has already reached tremendous heights this season. The Tigers are one of the final 12 teams remaining in the state and will bowl for a chance to be crowned champions of Indiana Saturday at Pro Bowl West in Fort Wayne.

Jaxson Gould, for the second straight season, hit a baseline jumper, and this year he sunk it with 2.6 seconds left in the game to give the Warsaw Tigers boys’ basketball team a 44-43 win over the Elkhart Lions in the Tiger Den Saturday night reminiscent of last year’s last-second 57-56 over Elkhart in North Side Gym.

Top-Ranked Panthers Cruise To Win Over Warsaw

NorthWood’s ranked No. 1 in Class 3A, and if it were possible for the Panthers to ascend even higher, Warsaw might not object. Led by junior guard Cade Brenner’s 31-point, nine-rebound, three-assist, three-steal performance, host NorthWood sailed past the Tigers 70-51 in boys high school basketball Friday night before a near-capacity crowd estimated at 3,500.
