Teen Faces Charges In Vehicle Thefts

A Syracuse teen was preliminarily charged last week in Kosciusko County in connection with a reported three-car, three-state theft spree he allegedly conducted with a Wabash County teen. Kenton A.Secor, 17, of 619 E.North Shore Drive, Syracuse, was preliminarily charged March 13 with auto theft, theft from a residence and receiving stolen property.He was released to his parents' custody pending action in juvenile court. The charges stem from a March 12 complaint to the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department of an abandoned car along Swallow Drive, Cromwell.Upon investigation of the abandoned car, police reportedly found West Virginia plates stowed under the seat of the Grand Prix. According to police reports, Secor allegedly confessed to going with the Wabash County teen - identified only as "Eric" in Kosciusko County reports - when an S-10 pickup was stolen in North Manchester.

Three Jailed On Robbery Charges, Fourth Sought

Two separate robbery incidents have landed three Warsaw residents in jail.In an unrelated incident, police are also investigating a series of thefts from a construction site at Ivy Tech.

Sidney Hears Vandalism Complaints

SIDNEY -ÊThe Sidney Town Board recently heard concerns from residents about a rash of vandalism and thefts in the town. Residents voiced concern about vandalism to residences and businesses.Several incidents of break-ins to cars and the theft of gas were reported. Troubles with juveniles on mini-bikes, go-carts and four-wheelers in town also were discussed. Further action on the incidents will be taken by the Sidney Town Board in the near future.

Auto Break-Ins Reported In City

The Warsaw Police Department is investigating eight thefts that occurred Monday in the parking lots of Royalite and Daylite, Detroit Street, Warsaw. Windows were broken out of at least eight vehicles to gain access.A CB radio, a pistol, three stereos, a tent, an air conditioner and cassettes were among the items reported stolen. Collective damage and loss from the broken windows and thefts was estimated at $1,600. The police are examining videotapes of the parking lots in an effort to find the thief.
