Milford Eyes Thieneman To Build Treatment Plant

MILFORD - At a special meeting Monday, the Milford Town Council approved a letter of intent to award the wastewater treatment plant bid to Thieneman Construction. Thieneman was the lowest bidder for the construction project with a bid of $2,012,000.The engineer's estimate for the project was $1.75 million. After Brian Houghton, of Jones & Henry engineers consulted with Thieneman, he was able to reduce the cost another $100,000, Houghton told the council.Along with the letter of intent, the council approved a change order for the $100,000 in reductions. Utilities commissioner Dallas Winchester said he would meet with Houghton and Brad Robinson, of Thieneman Construction, to discuss more possible savings on the construction project. "I'm content to turn it over to Dallas," said Robert Cockburn, town councilman, before making the motion to approve the letter of intent and change order.
