- U.S.30 - Build Now - Burket Fund-Raiser - Thanks From Freddie - Zimmer Road - School Building Program - TVHS Building Program - New Warsaw Speedway U.S.30 Editor, Times-Union: The accidents along U.S.30 and other traffic problems on U.S.30 around Warsaw are not only the result of poor driving and people not following the law. Many of these problems stem from the whole layout of U.S.30 and the crossroads and access to U.S.30.For example, there is one intersection with U.S.30 which is far safer and has virtually no accidents and that is the Ind.15 and U.S.30 intersection, where 30 is an overpass over 15 with access by on/off ramps.

- Hateful Comments - Democrat Party - Election Time - Civil Liberties - Satan - Claypool - Upward Basketball Hateful Comments Editor, Times-Union: I am truly sad about the hateful comments concerning Wal-Mart's so called promotion of the "sodomite agenda."It is a letter full of judgment and intolerance. And the fact that it comes from someone who reads the Bible makes me feel even more sad.

- Older Generation - Hot Summer - Support The Troops Older Generation Editor, Times-Union: Do you like to hear people say, "You can't teach an old dog new tricks?" People refer this to the older generation. Why is it that younger people think that older people are set in their ways? As one looks back on one's life, are we ever set in our ways? Having looked back on one's life, this person went to grade school in the deep depression, where everyone was poor and we were glad to have clothes and shoes to wear to school. No one was any better than the other. During one's high school years, 1941-45, we experienced World War II, where our lives were changed.A very great change in our lives at that time. Our thoughts were not on ourselves but on our service people.

Shafer Busy In Win Over Valley

ROCHESTER - It's uncertain whether he washed the uniforms or made the pregame meal, but Rochester's Matt Shafer did just about everything else Friday. He scored the Zebras' first 17 points in a 29-14 win over Three Rivers Conference rival Valley to regain possession of the Bell Trophy and gain the inside track to a TRC crown Friday night at Barnhart Field. Shafer caught a 30-yard pass from quarterback Scott Thomas with 6:21 left in the first quarter and connected on the extra point to put the Zebras up 7-0 on Rochester's first possession of the game. The touchdown came two plays after Thomas hooked up with Shafer on a 75-yard reception that was called back on a holding call at Valley's 20-yard line. The Vikings tied things up later in the first quarter when Aaron Reed took a hand-off from quarterback Bryce Kelley 67 yards down the Rochester sideline.Jerrod Parker's extra point knotted things up at 7-7.

Moore To Wienhorst Winning Combo For Tigers -ÊAgain

Though he prefers peppermint Chiclets¨ gum, second-year Warsaw boys basketball coach Doug Ogle has certainly enjoyed some M&Ms¨ this week. To say that they've left a sweet taste in his mouth would be an understatement. Three days after junior Michael Moore found classmate Michael Wienhorst under the basket at Elkhart Memorial, with Wienhorst being fouled and hitting the winning free throw with one second on the clock, the Tigers' Michael-to-Michael combination worked again Thursday against Northern Lakes Conference rival Plymouth. With the score knotted at 52-all, 4.2 seconds on the clock and the conference championship on the line, the Tigers inbounded the ball after the Pilgrims were whistled for a travel and Moore again found Wienhorst in the paint. This time the shot was uncontested and the Warsaw student section immediately rushed the court to celebrate the Tigers' thrilling 54-52 win over their U.S.30 rivals.
