Meetings Slated For Greenway Project

Warsaw Parks Activity Director Andy McCleary is excited about the Lake City Greenway Project, the proposed recreational bike path. McCleary said the bike path is expected to run eight miles and will be completed in segments because of its length. "We'd like to get started when all the engineering work and paper work gets finished," McCleary said."Basically, we're looking at another year and a half before a lot is going to happen." With the total estimated project cost of $1.5 million, many Warsaw and Winona Lake residents are wondering who is financing the bike path and where the money is coming from. Many residents are also wondering what the exact location will be, whether the path will be gravel or pavement and when the bike path will be completed. The park board and McCleary will answer all these questions and more at Tuesday's Park Board meeting, which is open to the public.
