Merkle has been an active farmer and member of the Cattlemen's Association several years.

Skinner earned this opportunity after he was chosen best male dancer during an MTV contest which took place in October at University of Miami, in Coral Gables, Fla., where he is a sophomore. He is the son of Dale and Darlene Skinner, Chapman Lake. 25 Years Ago March 22 1976 NAPPANEE - Det.Thomas L.Rohr will become the new police chief for Nappanee when Police Chief Dean Middaugh retires April 24. Rohr has been an officer with the department for 11 years.

Henry Hackworth, 66, of Warsaw, was hired in January 1961, as an assistant to the late chief courthouse custodian Ed Bowser.He succeeded Bowser as the chief courthouse custodian Jan.1, 1964, when the Mentone man retired.

Howard Swinehart, 56, of Warsaw, joined the Warsaw Post Office as a letter carrier in 1951 and after 28 years of service, retired on Nov.17, 1979.

I love you) on the marque of The Lamp, Grace's student union, in Winona Lake, then drove by it with her.Misner said yes and a spring wedding is planned.

Garman, a familiar figure with the townspeople, is retiring after 50 years of service to the community.She took over the station after her husband Orval's death nearly 20 years ago.

Ronald Smith, a teacher at Triton High School, and Mike Bott, a teacher at Warsaw Community High School, received certificates naming them Tandy Scholars.Amanda Lemler of Triton and Jules Lin of WCHS were the students who received certificates. 25 Years Ago March 24 1976 Pfc.Rolf Tusing, son of Mr.and Mrs.Lee Tusing, Rt.6, Warsaw, is taking advanced training in communications with the U.S.Marine Corps at Pensacola, Fla. A 1975 graduate of Warsaw Community High School, Pfc.Tusing entered the Marines and completed basic training at Parris Island, S.C., before going to his present station in February.
