- Giving Thanks - Justice System - Positive Attitude - Christmas Child Giving Thanks Editor, Times-Union: Many Christians bow their heads and thank God for the food they are about to eat, whether at home or at a restaurant. It would be great if every Christian and Christian family did this in witnessing to their faith.Children of such Christian families share in saying "thank you" to God for food before meals.
- Not So Different - Illegals Not So Different Editor, Times-Union: I am writing in response to Michael C.Mahan's Letter on April 11. He stated that the 11 million illegal immigrants in the U.S.should not believe that they are entitled to benefits of any kind.Well, their entitlement comes from the fact that on their check stubs that they receive from work say the same thing that yours does, Mr.Mahan, that both state, federal and SSI taxes are being taken out of their gross pay, also. They also file their tax return before April 15 every year just like you do, Mr.Mahan, with an ITIN.
- Aliens And Taxes - Welcome, Hispanics - Vote For Gunter - Interpretation - Sheriff Race Aliens And Taxes Editor, Times-Union: An Individual Taxpayer Identification Number is issued by the IRS to those who are ineligible to obtain a Social Security Number. An ITIN does not provide proof the holder is legally allowed to work in this country.Anyone who has lawfully entered the U.S.with a visa or work permit is eligible for a SSN, illegal aliens are not.In order to pay Social Security taxes, one must have a SSN.If an illegal alien has provided one to an employer, it is a fraudulent one, obtained illegally.

- Etna Green Officials - Breaking The Law - Know The Facts - Don't Hate - Day Of Prayer Etna Green Officials Editor, Times-Union: This letter is in regards to one sent in from Mr.Clark.I wasn't exactly sure why he was so angry with the Bakers or Eileen.I figured it had to be more than Mr.Baker taking two-hour lunches and Mrs.Baker being mean (as you say), so when I was in town over the weekend I asked a few people what it was all about.
- Creationism - Stolen Hat - Right To Life Thanks - Editor, Times-Union: Creationism Editor, Times-Union: A number of recent letters to the editor have expressed the writer's opinion on the Evolution/Creation controversy.I keep looking for someone to come through with a different point of view, as there is more than one position.I felt urged to try it. I am a retired minister of the Gospel and have served numerous churches in northern Indiana in the 50 plus years since my license to preach and ordination. My training, of course has been in the field of theology.
- KC Mustangs Say Thanks KC Mustangs Say Thanks Editor, Times-Union: The Kosciusko County Mustangs semi-pro football team would like to say thank you to the people who came out and watched our games, supported the team and especially the sponsors that donated to the team to make our very first year a great success! - Gun Hassles - Our Father's House - First Steps Gun Hassles Editor, Times-Union: So, all of a sudden it's a hassle just trying to buy a little single shot 22 or shotgun.Well surprise-surprise! - Wawasee Thanks - Thanksgiving Wawasee Thanks Editor, Times-Union: I would like to thank the members of the Amy Vanlaningham Society from Wawasee High School for their fight against racism in our community.
- Love And Marriage - Grass Love And Marriage Editor, Times-Union: While I applaud Brenda Ganshorn for exercising her privilege and right to use the media to express her opinions, I have to admit I found myself laughing at the letter itself. The idea of marriage between man and woman is a religious mandate, and if I remember correctly, we still have a little something called "separation of church and state" (albeit a loose one). To say that gay marriage would lead to things like legalized polygamy and bestiality is absurd.
- Abortion Debate - Stolen Necklace - AWL Says Thanks - Child Care - Price Of Oil - Youthful Destruction - Advice To Demos Abortion Debate Editor, Times-Union: Thank you for the opportunity to address Ms.Rector's letter published on the 11/09/04.While I'd like to comment on her criticism of me I find it difficult for she doesn't quote me but speaks for me.She states that I "seem to think" or that I am "under the impression."If she would quote from my letter and then criticize it we could have a reasonable conversation. So I'll just have to let the letters stand for themselves.
- Meat Meat Editor, Times-Union: To Troy Bouck, Concerning your response to Ms.Michael, not bad.A waste of time in a couple ways, but not bad at all.For one thing, I'm sure Ms.Michael sent that letter to every paper in northern Indiana and knows no more about Warsaw than she does about pork. For another, arguing with people like that is like arguing with a drunk. You might as well save your breath.
