- Evolution - Roemer Responds - EDIT Evolution Editor, Times-Union: So now we can blame almost anything that's gone wrong on the evolutionists. At least that's pretty much what Larry Hunter said in his letter to the editor on Oct.6. These people - the evolutionists, or people who consider evolution to be a possibility - lack compassion, have questionable ethics, have little regard for their parents or children (if they have any) are lustful and greedy, they are god-less - without hope, are inconsiderate and finally probably not appalled by abortion. How does one conclude that because someone may not accept creationism that that person has rejected God, and has few, if any, qualities of merit? It would be interesting to learn the source of information from which Mr.Hunter drew his conclusions.

- Singspiration - Pledge Of Allegiance - Grace Village - Purse Found Singspiration Editor, Times-Union: Shame on you, churches of Warsaw, Ind. While you had a tremendous opportunity to participate in a Christian outreach, touching hundreds of lives in the entire Kosciusko area, with a non-denominational Singspiration, you chose to stay within your four walls. On Sunday night, June 23, in Warsaw's lovely Central Park, a small group of theologians planned, set up and presented a wonderful community Singspiration. Many attended this inspiring event, giving glory to God and praises to the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.Joyfully singing without fear of condemnation, our voices could be heard all over downtown Warsaw.

- Thanks To Buyer - License - Halloween - Volleyball - What Are You? - Auto Accident Thanks To Buyer Editor, Times-Union: In 1996, a man who had been previously convicted of a felony was caught committing a crime at our local Girl Scout camp.He was armed with a shotgun at the time.Since Indiana law does not prevent a convicted felon from possessing a shotgun, I contacted the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms in an attempt to charge this person in the federal system. After several weeks of investigation and providing information, a U.S.attorney declined to pursue the appropriate federal charge against this individual.Frustrated, I contacted Representative Buyer's office and explained the problem.

- Swan Slaughter - Swan Hunting - Inhumane Swan Killing - Beautiful Swans - Reform Swan Slaughter Editor, Times-Union: Most of the residents on Backwater Lake, North Webster, are horrified at the slaughter of the mute swans. This week alone we know of 10 that have been killed in one day.We understand that it only takes one person to complain about the swans being a nuisance and the DNR will issue a permit for someone to remove by any means, the swans, their nests and babies. We don't understand how only one person can speak for everyone on the lake. This permit is unlimited. They can kill as many as they want.Indiana has passed a law after June 1 that will allow mute swans to be taken at anytime without a permit.
