'Enough' Campaign Tip Leads To Meth Arrest

A tip from a concerned citizen led to the recovery of a substantial amount of drugs and the arrest of a Warsaw man. Jesus C.Hernandez, 33, of 920 Anchorage Road, lot 81, Shamrock Trailer Park, Warsaw, was arrested Sept.30 and booked into the Porter County Jail and charged with possession of a schedule II substance. The tip received by the Kosciusko County Special Operations Team indicated several men at the Shamrock Trailer Park were dealing in drugs.The Kosciusko County Drug Task Force, along with the Warsaw Police Department, conducted an investigation based on the tip and recovered a substantial amount of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia at Hernandez's residence. That led the drug investigators to Hernandez's workplace, where officers again recovered a substantial amount of methamphetamine and cocaine in conjunction with the Porter County Drug Unit.

Claypool Man Faces Three Child Pornography Charges

CLAYPOOL - Police Wednesday seized alleged pornographic materials from a Claypool residence and arrested a man on various related charges. John Kent Surface, 48, of 101 Warner Drive #9, Claypool, is charged with exhibiting obscene matter under 16 years of age, participating in obscene performance under 16 years of age and dissemination of matter harmful to minors, all Class D felonies.He is being held in the Kosciusko County Jail on $25,000 bond. According to the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department, information received from a neighbor led them to seek a search warrant for Surface's residence.During execution of the search warrant, police seized child pornography, a computer, cameras, computer disks and sex-related books.Surface was also connected to the Internet, but the extent of its use is unknown at this time.
