10 Years AgoWarsaw's Glenn Nichols, 50, has missed only one Notre Dame football game in the last 11 years, including home games, away games, bowl games and games played in places like Ireland and Hawaii.Now Nichols has coached Notre Dame's Football team as well. Nichols served as the honorary coach for Notre Dame's "Blue" team - the offense - in the April 29 Blue and Gold intra-squad game. David Sarnoff, president of Radio Corporation of America, told stockholders the company immediately would spend $1 million to erect a television transmitter, build receivers and conduct practical experiments in sending pictures over the ether. Engineers already have been sending television for many months, but their efforts were purely experimental. Television transmitters have only an effective range of 15 to 25 miles at the present.
