GOSHEN – Goshen Health is making it easier for local families to get active together this summer — no gym required.
Through its Park Bench Fitness program, developed in partnership with area parks departments, residents can access free guided workouts in the very spaces they already enjoy, according to a news release from Goshen Health.
The program is simple: Scan a QR code on signs near participating park benches to access short exercise videos in English or Spanish. The videos demonstrate full-body workouts using just a bench — no special equipment needed. A fun, kid-friendly version is also available, encouraging families to move together while enjoying the outdoors.
“We’re excited to continue this collaborative effort with local parks to encourage community members to be more physically active while also spending time outside,” said Randy Christophel, Goshen Health president and chief executive officer.
Park Bench Fitness is available in parks throughout Elkhart County and surrounding areas, including: Goshen Parks & Recreation, town of Bristol Parks Department, city of Elkhart Parks & Recreation, Elkhart County Parks, Syracuse Parks & Recreation, city of Warsaw Parks & Recreation.
