Marjorie Kay Caverley was born on May 20, 1950, in Warsaw, and passed away peacefully at home in Warsaw on May 6, 2025, at 2:45 p.m.
For more than 30 years, Marjorie worked in the sewing department of Jomac Gloves until its closure. Subsequently, she found joy working in the cafeteria at Lincoln Elementary, where she loved being around children. As a mother, she participated in many school events and sporting activities.
Marjorie was known for her quiet demeanor, was beloved by all, and affectionately called "Granny" by nearly everyone.
She attended Warsaw Community Schools and was a longtime member of Clunette United Methodist Church. Marjorie enjoyed trips to the casino and cherished dinner outings with her close friends, whom she fondly referred to as "The Bikini Girls."
Marjorie is survived by two daughters, Laurie (Jeff) Head, of Warsaw; and Sue (Scott) Shelhart, of Claypool; two sons, Michael (Sherry) Caverley and Bill (Laurel) Caverley, of Warsaw. She was also a proud grandmother to 11 grandchildren and a great-grandmother to 28 great-grandchildren. Marjorie will be remembered fondly by her family, including the family pets, Miss Kitty and the dog, Tiny, and her very good friend, Barb.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald "Mike" Caverley; her brother, Donald G. Hatfield; two stillborn sons; and her parents, Donald A. Hatfield and Faye Leota Pratt Hatfield. Marjorie was also reunited in spirit with her beloved dog, Cooper.
Titus Funeral Home and Cremation Services is entrusted with care of Granny. Visitors were able to join the family on Tuesday, May 13 from 5 to 7 p.m. Pastor Mike Beezley will support the family in a private service. Marjorie and Mike will be inurned at Warsaw's Oakwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers or gifts, memorials can be paid to Titus Funeral Home, 2000 Sheridan St., Warsaw, IN 46580. Memorials will help with funeral expenses.
