Police Pursuit Ends In Marshall County With An Arrest

MARSHALL COUNTY - An Indianapolis man was arrested after a police pursuit that went through Marshall County.
According to a Marshall County Sheriff’s Department criminal arrest news release, at approximately 2:29 p.m. Thursday, May 9 the MCSD was notified of a stolen vehicle traveling south on U.S. 31 from U.S. 6. Marshall County officers located the stolen vehicle and attempted to perform a traffic stop in the area of U.S. 31 and 16th Road. The driver failed to stop and then began traveling north on U.S. 31 from Ind. 10 at a high rate of speed.
Officers pursued the vehicle and at one point the suspect vehicle collided with a police vehicle. Stop sticks were deployed in the area of U.S. 31 and 13th Road and were successful, the release states.
The driver - identified as Aaron C. Ellis, 27, Indianapolis - came to a stop south of 11th Road on U.S. 31. He was taken into custody without further incident.
Ellis had an active warrant out of Marion County for robbery, a level 5 felony, and domestic battery, a misdemeanor.
Criminal charges against Ellis from Thursday’s arrest include auto theft, a level 6 felony; resisting law enforcement with a vehicle, a level 6 felony; possession of marijuana, a class B misdemeanor; and possession of paraphernalia, a class C misdemeanor. His initial bond was set at $1,500.
Agencies Involved included the Argos Police Department, Indiana State Police and Lyon’s Wrecker Service.
