NORTH WEBSTER - Northwest Bank announced a donation of $1,000 to the Dixie Sternwheeler, a historic landmark and popular tourist attraction on Webster Lake.
This grant will support vital structural repairs, engine and mechanical upgrades, interior and exterior improvements, safety enhancements and historical preservation efforts, according to a news release.
The Dixie Sternwheeler, an iconic symbol of North Webster, has been delighting visitors with scenic cruises for decades. These funds will ensure the boat remains safe, operational and enjoyable for future generations. As a key attraction, the Dixie Sternwheeler draws numerous visitors to North Webster, significantly boosting the local economy through tourism-related spending on accommodation, dining and other activities, the release states.
"We are thrilled to support the Dixie Sternwheeler and contribute to the preservation of this important piece of our community's history," said Gwen Fuchs, financial center manager. "Our donation will help maintain the boat's legacy and ensure it continues to be a source of joy and pride for residents and visitors alike."
