Large quantities of illegal narcotics were recovered after a police pursuit Sunday night.
According to a news release from the Milford Police Department, at approximately 9:44 p.m. Sunday, Milford Police Department deputy Marshal Wynn attempted a traffic stop on a 2008 gray Dodge Grand Caravan around Ind. 15 and Levi Lee Road. The Grand Caravan failed to stop, and a pursuit was initiated.
During the pursuit, the driver - identified as Dakota T. Tucker, 33, South Bend - began tossing items out of the driver's side window. Stop sticks (tire deflation devices) were deployed, affecting three of the four tires, which eventually ended the pursuit on Center Street near the Comfort Inn in Warsaw.
Several large quantities of illegal narcotics were recovered from the roadway where officers observed the driver throwing items out of the vehicle, the release states.
Tucker was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail at 12:59 a.m. Monday. His booking sheet lists the charges against him as possession of cocaine or a narcotic drug, resisting a law enforcement officer using a vehicle, driving a motor vehicle while suspended, reckless driving, leaving the scene of a property damage crash and possession of marijuana/hash oil/hashish. His preliminary bond was set at $5,250.
The Milford Police Department thanked the following assisting agencies Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department, Warsaw Police Department, Winona Lake Police Department, Kosciusko County Prosecutor's Office, Lutheran EMS and Warsaw-Wayne Fire Territory.
