Douglas “Doug” Lynn Farrell, 77, Claypool, died Monday, May 5, 2025.
He was born Sept. 20, 1947, in Huntington, to June Baker Brineman and Ronald E. Farrell.
Doug married Cheryl Ann Wert on Oct. 28, 1967, in Angola. Doug left to serve in the U.S. Army from 1967 until his honorable discharge in 1970. He served as a combat rifleman during the Vietnam Conflict.
Doug’s life will be celebrated with a service at 1 p.m. Monday, May 12 at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, Warsaw, and officiated by Pastor Butch Troke. Visitation will be prior to the service from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. A graveside service will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, with military rites conducted by members of the American Legion Post #49, V.F.W. #1126 and active-duty members of the Army Honor Guard.
Memorial donations may be directed to Beaver Dam Community Church, 9798 W. 1000 S., Akron, IN 46910. Put in memo line to go towards “Wheels on Fire.”
