Warsaw Man Arrested On Residential Entry And Battery Charges

A Warsaw man was arrested after allegedly entering a home without permission and inappropriately touching someone else.
John I. Long, 72, of 2798 S. Country Club Road, #26, Warsaw, is charged with residential entry, a level 6 felony; sexual battery, a level 6 felony; and battery, a class B misdemeanor.
He was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail at 6:50 p.m. April 28 on a $5,250 preliminary bond.
According to the probable cause affidavit, on April 28 Kosciusko County Dispatch advised law enforcement a subject, later identified as Long, entered a resident and inappropriately touched a person.
The deputy responded and spoke with the person, who said Long had entered their residence without permission. The person also said Long sat in a chair in the living room and pulled the person to sit on his lap. The person detected alcohol on Long’s breath, according to court documents.
The person tried to pull away and push Long away but he wouldn’t let the person go and Long tried to hug and kiss the person. Long talked about the person moving to Florida with him and told the person he loved them.
The deputy talked with Long, who said he visited the person and their children. The deputy detected alcohol on Long’s breath. Long said he gave the person a friendly hug and the person lost their balance and fell onto Long’s lap. Long admitted he kissed the person on the cheek.
