Chuck Surack To Speak At Manchester U. Commencement

NORTH MANCHESTER - Chuck Surack will address the graduating classes and receive an honorary Doctor of Humanities degree at Manchester University's commencement ceremonies on Saturday, May 24.
A passionate musician, Surack is the founder of Sweetwater Sound, the number one online retailer of musical instruments and professional audio equipment in the United States, according to a news release from Manchester University. Established in 1979, the company serves more than 1 million customers each year and employs more than 2,800 team members.
His other business ventures include SweetCars, Sweet Aviation, Sweet Helicopters, Sweet Real Estate, Longe Optical and The Clyde Theatre, all based in Fort Wayne. He and his wife, Lisa, founded the Surack Family Foundation, furthering their commitment to the region. The foundation supports more than 500 nonprofit organizations throughout northeast Indiana, empowering education, the arts and social services.
Surack has led revitalization efforts in downtown Fort Wayne, including the creation of The Pearl and the Pearl Street Arts Center - dynamic spaces designed to support artists, families and small businesses.
Manchester's graduate and professional commencement ceremony will begin at 9 a.m. in Cordier Auditorium at the North Manchester campus. The undergraduate commencement ceremony will follow at 11 a.m.
