Deloris J. Bradley, 71, of Hamlet, entered the Heavenly gates on Monday, April 28, 2025, peacefully at her home, surrounded by the love of her family.
A devoted woman of deep faith, Deloris lived her life with purpose, grace, and a heart fully committed to serving the Lord.
She was born on Jan. 23, 1954, in Warsaw, to the late Jessie Whitaker and Sadie Shepherd. Deloris moved to the Hamlet area over 40 years ago from Rochester and made it her cherished home. On Nov. 28, 1980, she married the love of her life, Erve Bradley, in Rochester. Their enduring love was a testimony to their faith and devotion.
Deloris worked as a supervisor at MPI for many years, but her most enduring legacy is found in her ministry. Alongside her husband Erve, she co-founded New Life Pentecostal Church in Hamlet, where she served as matriarch and spiritual guide. Her unwavering love for the Lord was evident in all she did — through her worship, her work and her warm presence in the lives of those around her. Deloris had a passion for singing gospel hymns, tending her garden, and cherishing the beauty of flowers. Christmas held a special place in her heart, and she celebrated its spirit year-round, bringing joy to everyone she encountered.
She is survived by her loving husband, Erve, of Hamlet; her five beloved children: Denny (Sheryl) Harlan, of Warsaw; Jessica (Brandon) Strevy, of Bourbon; Donald (Amanda) Harlan, of North Manchester; Erica Bradley, of Hamlet; and Ashlee (Matt) Moore, of Grovertown; 20 cherished grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Mary, Pauline, Lorene and Geri; and brothers Jerry, William, Jay and Frank. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Wilbur and Jessie DeWayne.
Visitation will be held from noon to 3 p.m. CDT on Sunday, May 4 at Rannells Funeral Home, Hamlet Chapel. A celebration of Deloris’s life and faith will follow at 3 p.m. Graveside services will take place at 1 p.m. CDT on Monday, May 5 at Lakeview Cemetery in Silver Lake.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to New Life Pentecostal Church in Hamlet, continuing Deloris’s mission of faith and service. Deloris will be remembered for her deep love of God, unwavering faith, and the warmth and joy she brought into every life she touched. Her legacy of devotion, love, and light will live on in all who knew her.
