WINONA LAKE – The Brothers in Harmony, a 25-voice local men’s chorus, will present “An Evening in Song With the Brothers in Harmony” Monday, April 7, at 6:30 p.m. in the chapel of Grace Retirement Village on Wooster Road in Winona Lake.
The program is free and open to the public, according to a provided news release.
Monday night’s program will feature a mixture of gospel and hymn arrangements, including several outstanding arrangements by composers Dan Forrest, Larry Mayfield and others.
A feature of the group’s spring presentations is the inclusion of four scripture oral interpretation segments. Scripted and coached by Dr. D. Brent Sandy, the texts will include the biblical accounts of the blind man regaining his sight, Mary and Martha encountering Jesus after the resurrection, and more. Sandy is the author of “Hear Ye the Word of Lord,” a recently-published book promoting the value of hearing scripture, not just reading it.
Brothers in Harmony was founded by Tiberius Rata and the group has sung throughout northern Indiana and in other venues including Chicago, VanWert, Berne and Kokomo.
Brothers in Harmony is accompanied by Kyle Garner, and its several musical directors include Jim Cox, Terry White, Josh Fisher and Tiberius Rata.
