SOUTH WHITLEY – The Whitko Sunshine Society presented a $4,217.49 check to Riley Children’s Hospital representative and Kids Caring and Sharing Program Officer Susan Miles on Thursday afternoon at Whitko Junior-Senior High School.
The donation was made possible through a Sunshine Queen contest held earlier in the school year, crowning Isabelle Irwin the 2025 Sunshine Queen and Isla Rose 2025 Sunshine Princess, according to a news release from Whitko Community Schools.
This is the largest donation to Riley Children’s Hospital from any Indiana chapter of the Sunshine Society this year.
Whitko Sunshine Society is a local chapter of the Indiana Sunshine Society, a service organization that strives to show helpfulness and kindness to others. Established in 1901, the Indiana Sunshine Society now has more than 1,000 members in high school chapters, who are dedicated to serving others in their communities.
