Shirley J. Dunn, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, passed away peacefully in her home on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at the age of 75.
Born on Dec. 7, 1949, in Wabash, Shirley was the daughter of George Smith and Viola Bonjour Dickerson.
Shirley's journey through life was marked by a deep love for her family and a dedication to her career. She began her professional journey as a hairdresser before making a significant impact during her 34 years at RR Donnelley as a material handler. Her work ethic and commitment to excellence were evident to all who knew her.
Shirley's interests included reading and cooking, with holiday meals, especially Thanksgiving and Christmas being her favorite occasions to gather her family around the table. Spending time with her family and grandchildren brought her immense joy and fulfillment.
Shirley was a devoted family woman. She married her husband, Harold Dunn, on June 7, 1970, and together they built a loving home filled with joy and laughter. Shirley was an adoring mother to her two daughters, Terri (David) Tran and Traci Delph, and a proud grandmother to her grandchildren: Kameron Hultke, Kaymen Delph, Regann Finch, Keylee Reese and Kinzley Burmeister. Shirley's love for her family extended beyond her immediate household; she maintained close relationships with her sisters, Sandra Bentley and Sharon Wallace, and enjoyed the companionship of her friends, Lana and Joe Fritz. Her legacy continues through many nieces, nephews, and extended family who carry on her spirit.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, George Smith and Viola (Jack) Dickerson; as well as her in-laws, Herschel and Virginia Dunn.
Titus Funeral Home of Warsaw is entrusted with the care of Shirley. Friends and family may gather for visitation on Friday, March 28 from 2 until 4 p.m. and again from 5 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home, 2000 Sheridan St., Warsaw. At 7 p.m., the funeral service will begin.
Shirley’s family kindly requests that donations be made to Riley Children’s Hospital in her honor.

“Some things are hard to write about. After something happens to you, you go to write it down, and either you over dramatize it, or underplay it, exaggerate the wrong parts, or ignore the important ones. At any rate, you never write it quite the way you want to.”
