SIDNEY — Sidney Town Council discussed its contract with the Pierceton Police Department during a meeting on Monday.
Pierceton Police Department emailed a January patrol report to Clerk-Treasurer Lisa Parrett. Council member Sharon Rancourt asked if Pierceton Police Department was making any stops in the Sidney area. Parrett said Pierceton Police Department didn't provide that information in their reports, but that she had witnessed them making stops.
Rancourt asked Parrett to contact Pierceton Police Department and have them begin listing those statistics in their reports.
"I want to know if it's being effective," said Rancourt.
One resident asked if Pierceton Town Marshal Jim Bumbaugh could be present at the council's April meeting. Parrett said that meeting attendance was not part of the department's contract with the town, but that she could ask him that.
Council also discussed trading in the town's current laptop for a newer model that will have the capability to audio and video record meetings. Parrett agreed to look at options and bring suggestions to the council in April.
The council's next meeting is at 6:30 p.m. April 14 at the Jackson Township Fire Station.
