Martha Light

Martha Light, age 86, of Warsaw, passed away on March 16, 2025, at Miller's Merry Manor of Warsaw.
She was born on Oct. 13, 1938, to her parents Paul and Pauline Fawley. She would meet and marry her husband Donald Light on Nov. 25, 1956. Martha dedicated much of her life to her family and her work, particularly as the school secretary at Washington Elementary School, where she worked for many years. Additionally, she contributed as a writer for the social column in the Times-Union.
A graduate of Warsaw High School, Martha was known for her vibrant personality. She possessed a distinctive sense of humor that remained sharp and lively until the very end, and her strength of character. Martha was a passionate fan of IU Basketball and the Chicago Bears. She also enjoyed her time with the Double H Home EC Club, where she shared her love for knitting and participated in memorable social events, often playfully bending the rules during trivia pursuit games.
She is survived by her children, Dana (Ron) Milford, of Warsaw; and Dennis (Michael Cunningham), of Chicago. Martha's legacy is carried on through her grandchildren: Jennifer (Chad) Haag, Trisha (Joe) Tovar, Tyler (Cassondra) Light, Joel Light, Dylan Milford, Drake (Alexis Van Ness) Milford and Spencer (Karlie German) Milford, along with eight great-grandchildren who brought her immense joy. Along with her sister, Joan Gampher, of Tennessee.
Martha was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald Light, who passed away in 2006; as well as her son, David Light, in 2005; and her sister, Jane Eherenman.
Arrangements are entrusted to Titus Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 2000 Sheridan St., Warsaw. Per Martha's request, she will be cremated and placed next to her husband at Oakwood Cemetery. A graveside service will be held at Oakwood Cemetery in Warsaw on April 5 starting at 11 a.m.
